As some of you know I had the absolute pleasure of being invited to Varg PR’s Talented Designer Gudrun Sjoden’s Flagship store Launch..
Forgive my terrible photography.. my Fuji battery died (trust..)..
But I’m not quite sure how I even missed a turning for this Gorgeous store!! But I must say.. it is breath-taking!
Coming from a visual Merchandising background.. this was absolute HEAVEN!!.. The attention to detail was phenomenal, I honestly could have moved in.

I was greeted by Varg PR’s lovely press team (looking absolutely lush in Gudruns pieces).. the place literally flooded with colours that made you fall in love with Spring and summer again, despite the awful April showers we’ve been having *sigh*..

..Sweet music flooded the atmosphere from the live musicians.. and I just so happened to forget my ‘healthy diet’ when the mouth-watering canopies passed.. LOL!
I loved seeing gudruns pieces ‘at home’.. Stylists know that sometimes a rail doesn’t do much for the imagination.. But what I saw was pure culture.. and I was so inspired!!
Gudrun Sjodens pieces are Unique and could be described as somewhat fearless.. the designs don’t shy away from the use of bold colours and artistic statement prints!
I always say a good designer.. is a unforgetable designer.. and that, she is!
“Where do I get all my ideas and inspiration? Where does the creativity flow from? For me, it is, in a way, a constant stream of creativity stemming from nature, colour, the way people communicate and live their lives, historical tradition and development, and different countries and cultures…my brain just absorbs and takes everything in, files it away in little compartments, spins it around and sorts things out subconsciously…
I sit with my pad, pens and paints, let my thoughts flow, and my pen go freely. I sketch a little here and there and make a note of different unconnected ideas. I do a few more sketches, add bits of fabric, and colour samples, and soon creativity is in full swing.
