BEHIND THE SCENES: PRIDE MAGAZINE APRIL 2012 FASHION EDITORIAL!!

As some of you know I Directed my first Fashion editorial shoot in April 2012 Pride Magazine!! Above are moodboards I made for the styling, set and photography of the shoot!!

Here is the First look, welcome to Gilgamesh’s Tea room where it displays my modern take on the ‘little black dress’! yea.. yea.. i know it’s mainly gold.. but I love how nowadays we have that basic black (themed) dress which can be worn over and over… This dress IS far from basic though… I am in love with this cord dress!!

This look was another extension of the ‘LBD‘… Modernised with a cut out waist.. thigh high splits… and that sexy ‘backless’ statement!

This look is one of my favourite.. this show-stopping coral maxi dress would make ALL skin tones glow!! A maxi dress to me is a must have in the wardrobe.. easy to dress up or down. and perfect for a day you feel not quite 100%… and you’ll look absolutely HOT!!

So what is Spring & Summer without a swimsuit?

I love these three swimsuits!! TIP: I wanted the models to look glossed up for this look and accidentally got some oil on the swimsuit (unfortunately the designer was unforgiving) SO.. a big tip is to use a non oil based glitter directly on the skin or use water with a spray bottle on the skin to create the same glow when shooting!!

And just like the LBD, I believe all women should dare to wear RED!! INVEST.. INVEST.. and oh yea.. INVEST!! this is a statement piece just as important a clutch.. or a cuff in your wardrobe!

These feather looks were necessary… I am a sucker for texture and fur!! and  here I gave you a younger option and a more mature option… but both are undeniably sexy and chic with a gorgeous hint of african print!!

Last week it had been a very busy week for me with three important shoots to do!!

The best part of being a Fashion stylist is being busy with emails and doing pick-ups for stylist loans and knowing you have some amazing shoots coming up!!

So here is a lil peak into what I have been up to…

07/03/12 #TodayImWearing H&M jumper & Leggings, knit cardi from Next, Primark Suede Boots & Jewellery from Freedom @ Topshop.

On Wednesday I started my designer pickups!! here is a sneak peek of some jewellery pieces I got from an amazing designer!! keep an eye on my blog for full credentials when magazine is published!!

11/03/12 …A sunday.. The hard life of a stylist is not a mon-Fri 9-5 job.. I worked throughout the week and into the weekend.. So as people in my team were relaxing I was out working…

I then spent the next day living in Starbucks doing image selections… I REALLY have got to get Starbucks to sponsor me.. I drink so much latte’s from there I should get shares.. LOL!!!

as Some of you know me and my partner in crime Chanel Boateng (Make-up Artist) were blessed to collaborate with Britain’s Next Top Model Runner up Alisha White (click on her name if you want to see my interview with her).

Alisha has always been a favourite of mine so this was a nice opportunity for me to get my BarryM painted fingers on her goooorgeous frame (look at her leeeegs!!!) and style her in AW 11/12 Trend pieces she would possibly never have seen herself in!

Chanel also had an opportunity to Shoot with Model Ufuoma Itoje who is one of the beautiful contestants who graced Britain & Ireland’s Next top model who was Styled by Viennity!

Pride Merged both of our gorgeous shoots into a 10 PAGE SPREAD called ‘Country Living’..

With Great inspiration from H&M’s amazing use of Rich colours and textures.. I chose this Maxi Dress for my Christmas dinner Outfit

I accessorized this dress with a thick Black belt to tie in with my Full Topshop Unique inspired Hair which models like Jordan Dunne (below) rocked out  for their Spring Summer 2010 Fashion Show.
